A Simple Life
So I have a bit of an unconventional timeline with the whole music thing… As a young fellah I had a bit of a sheltered upbringing so my idea of music was hymns and theme songs from TV shows lol.
My Heroes
Anyhoo, one day my sister gave me a cassette tape by some guy called Tommy Emmanual and the guitar part of my DNA activated for the first time (best present ever sis). Then a wee bit later one of my mates lent me some CDs of some guy called Joe Satriani absolutely SHREDDING and I was hooked.
The Here and Now
Fortunately, it only took about 30 years to get to the point where me playing that kind of thing didn’t sound completely awful. Of course, by then most people weren’t interested in hearing that kind of thing anymore so I started learning some normal people music.
Then, thanks to good luck and good friends (Nick, high five) I found myself trying out to be the lead guitarist in some band called “Detour” and hey hey hey… here I am 🙂
